"The first big surprise, that warmed my heart, it is to recover Halim and Fadila. They have the age of my eldest son and so Halim, that is shier and reserved, dare to kiss hardly, as being very happy to see me, Fadila, again didn't stop tightening me in her arms while kissing me, it was indeed fantastic. To every arrival, she came back to look for me with Isabel, it was terrific. The meetings with the population were very enriching; I think that it is an edition that is going to let some traces in the memory of those that were there. The risks of the aerial transportation didn't disturb me that makes left of the risks of the journeys. About the distances... for me, that doesn't have any importance, it is a local organization, it is necessary to accept the intangible factors therefore and especially, not to want to impose strict regulation... let's not forget that we are welcomed to run with the local population. It is not about a race organized by the French, for a French small group that wants to make a race rightly and to go back to the hotel, with the whole comfort, while mocking well, of people of the Country... Some understood it well and others complain that there is not enough jam to the breakfast... etc. ... All these people don't have anything to make in such an organization, that they are going "to pay" for the double, to run only to about twenty, without taking the time to meet people, that is yet it most interesting."

"For me, that amounts to few of thing, a very beautiful edition, extensively taken back by two big champions, Halim and Fadila, that would deserve to be a little more sustained by their Federation, but that is going to come maybe. Of new meetings with nice people, that I am in a hurry to review. Of others, that I am going to forget quickly... Again some small things to try to finalize, as water in bottle. This year, we didn't have any luck with Air Algeria, for the internal, a pity flights, because that always wastes a little the feast, when one is blocked, without any information, but good, there is worse, as situation... I will be maybe there for the 9th edition... InchaAllah..."

"Thank you that you give me the opportunity to express myself for your event, it is a big honor to give my opinion concerning your big Marathon of the Dunes and I had some ideas.
1. Extension of the course with longer distances for example 62 km is also a symbolic number of the year of the independence for Algeria.
2. Composition of the course.  The land of the 8th edition was too flat. To find a combination in the 9th edition of the various elements of land: wadi, oasis, and dunes, tarry. Why is not one going to run on dunes? I inform you that I have contacted a lot of the Korean marathons clubs to announce the 9th Marathon of the Dunes. I like Algeria. To soon in this beautiful region of the Saoura, return yourselves in December 2008."

"I have the honor to come by the slant of these small words to thank you that you permitted me to discover my country and to live my passion and in more to make the acquaintances of many people who share the same state of mind as me.
I confess that I passed one of the my most beautiful stays of my life; even though I didn't know person to the departure, but quickly I felt between my family, my brothers and sisters (of the respectable races, serious, intellectuals, in different domains and nationality a real “patch work” that permitted me to widen my acquaintances, opens the advantage toward the others and to enrich me, I widened my notebook with addresses and the most important thing is that I retook taste for the life.
All that wouldn’t be able to achieve itself if I had not participated in this Marathon of the Dunes - thank you again 1000 times and I wait with impatience for December 2008 to participate in the next edition.
What I can tell you; that it is necessary to hold good to be able to continue your casting and everybody sustains you same if there are a few small worries as regards to the organization. We know that it is not easy to achieve an event of the kind in the desert.
These small worries are not going to make me forget the stay of the marathon easily.

"First of all, the problems of aerial transportation are not your mistake. But as you saw, people always take it to the promoter. It is like this! In what concerns me, the waiting was long in Algiers, but the following day I had already forgotten. For what concerns my impressions on the last marathon, they are numerous. First of all, it is my third marathon and it is the most beautiful. This marathon was much more beautiful than the one of Tinerkouk and Ghardaïa. The report passed on France-Television, on France 0, TV5, and France 24. The pictures were magnificent; everybody speaks to of it again.
It was perfected. My colleague journalist Alain marveled by this marathon. The next time, would I come back with Mahm? It will be better. So, it was indeed very well. I hold to your disposition if you want other impressions.  »

After one week of competition in the region of the Saoura, the city of Taghit was on the eve of the New Year the theater of the third and last stage of the 8th edition of the Marathon of the Dunes of which kherdja.com is partner. A competition that has been marked by the involvement of about hundred athletes of which sixty foreigners representing 11 countries. For this edition, the promoter of the event, Mr. Abdelmadjid Rezkane didn't fail to modernize the marathon organizational and media side with the organization of the 3rd forum eco-tourism environment.

In the tourist context, the participants and accompanists had the right to the fairy landscapes of the region, notably the dunes as far as visible of the side of Beni Abbes, the oasis in the shape of scorpion who strews the hermitage of the Foucault father Charles and the local swimming pool filled of thermal water all along the year.
The participants to the 8th edition of the Marathon of the Dunes had the right to traditional lunches all along their stay offered by the inhabitants of the region as well as the local authorities, but also to evenings enlivened by local troops specialized in the traditional song and the gnawi.

Everybody is invited to reserve his place from now on for the ninth edition of the Marathon of the Dunes that will have presumably in the region of Kerzaz (Bechar) during the last week of the month of December.
In the meantime, think about to revive your legs while practicing sport at least once per week.
