Organization:
The agency SPORTING MANAGEMENT organizes its 9th MARATHON OF THE DUNES
from December 27, 2008 to January 02, 2009 in KERZAZ (wilaya of Bechar) - Algeria.
This locality is situated to 1.350 km in the West South of Algiers.
Definition of the competition:
The 9th Marathon of the Dunes is a race out in the country of about 42 km, that takes place in three stages and in free pace on a distance of 14 km for each of the stages on three and a half days of competition. They will take place in the vicinity of KERZAZ and one stage in TAMTERT.
In general, the tests will take place all along the dunes and on very flexible courses.

General conditions:
The 9th Marathon of the Dunes will take place in conformity with the present regulation that can be consulted with the seat of the organization. All competitors commit to submit to this regulation by the only fact of their enrollment and clear the responsibility of the promoters for all incidental or accident capable to occur because of the non respect of this regulation.

Admission of the participants:
- To be more than 18 years old.
- Bachelor or non bachelor.
- A medical certificate attesting the competitor's faculty (prolonged and intense effort in altitude) should be completed and returned to the organization with the bulletin of enrollment.

Categories of Ages:
The categories of ages are classified for the two genders as follows:
- 18 to 40 years: AS
- 41 to 50 years: V1
- 51 to 60 years: V2
- 61 years and plus: senior 

Classification:
The individual ordering for every stage will be established with the realized times.
The individual general arrangement will be established on the set of the three stages while adding the times of every stage. For winner will be declared the athlete achieved the best time of all stages.
In case of equality, the winner will be the athlete who will have gotten the best orderings in the biggest number of stages. This system will be valid for equality at any other place of the test.
An athlete not having participated in one the stages or having quit will be relegated and won't represent on any ordering.

Marks of identification by the organization:
At the time of the administrative and technical audits preceding the departure of the running, the organization will provide to every concurrent:
A number (port on the chest) and will provide three numbers made of paper also for each of the three stages. The marks of identification provided by the promoters will remain affixed inevitably on every competitor during all the period of the marathon. The numbers won't be given in the day of the race.

Reserved site for the individual sponsorship:
Outside of the marks of identification reserved by the organization for every competitor, the spaces remaining available will be able to be used by the competitor for the individual sponsorship, example: Tee shirt (without chest), shorts, sock, caps and bagback.
However, the organization reserves the right to bar an excessive individual sponsorship or in direct competition with the conventional advertising partners in the setting of the 9th Marathon of the Dunes or for reasons whose organization doesn't have to justify itself.

Timetables of the runnings:
The stages will take place in morning with departure at 9.00 am.
Two stages will take place around Kerzaz, on gritty lands (around the dunes); in general the land is flexible, very little road. The third stage will progress in the locality of Tamtert on 60 km from Kerzaz.

Water points:
The organization is in charge of provision in water for the colons foreseen to the Km 5 and the Km 10 with containing tables of mineral water, dates and oranges.
Beaconing of the Kms:
The participants should follow the beaconing of the stages foreseen by the organization. The course of every stage will be indicated by beacons, pennants and kilometer panels.
Stations of controls:
Stations of controls are distributed along the course of every stage and constitute sites of obligatory pointing for the competitors.
Timing:
Every competitor's times will be timed in hours, minutes and seconds by official accept.
Medical help:
A medical team will be put in place by the organization during the whole length of the marathon. It will medically assist the competitors in the stations appearing on the notebook of road of every stage. It is authorized to put out of the race all competitors unfit to continue the test putting in danger him or the others.
Ambulances will follow the athletes during the three stages.
In the camp of the participants there will be a permanently presence of a medical team with physicians and nurses as well as a room of cares and massage for the athletes.
Security:
The security of the competitors will be assured 24h/24h by Police's services, State police, Health and Civil Protection, during the whole period of the marathon.
Insurance:
The promoter subscribed for the length of the marathon civil responsibility insurance with regard to the third party and competitors, what implies that the damages undergone by these last are generated by the promoter's mistake.
Equipment:
It is advisable for the competitors to have shoes especially made for the sand, beaten land and the road. For the clothing, it will be good that the competitors are endowed with warm clothes for the evenings.
The competitors have to foresee a sleeping bag and a pocket-size lamp.
Rights for Photo, Television, and Video Coverage:
The promoter reserves all exclusive rights of use of the pictures of the 9th Marathon of the Dunes.
All competitors give up expressly taking advantage of the right to picture during the event, as he gives up all recourse in opposition to the promoter and his approved partners for use of his pictures. All audio visual professionals must make their accreditation by the promoter in accordance with the regulation in force.

Rewards - Prizes:
According to the specified categories, the laureates and other athletes classified to the level of the general arrangement (the two genders) will receive some bonuses in dinars, the rewards and the offered gifts either by the promoter or sponsors.
Every participant in the 9th Marathon of the Dunes will receive a diploma to remembrance.
Visas for the participants:
For the administrative formalities, to know the steps for the obtaining of the visas, SPORTING MANAGEMENT will be in charge to inform officially the Consular services in the Embassies of Algeria in the country of the participant enlisted for the 9th Marathon of the Dunes.
Nevertheless, the competitor must address to the organization, his card of information at least two months before the event.
The organization addresses to all participants an attestation of involvement, indispensable document for the Embassy services in charge of the visas.
The participant must provide to the consulate an attestation of the insurance.
Organization of the journeys from Europe:
In collaboration with airline companies and travel agencies, the agency SPORTING MANAGEMENT will grant to the participants, journalists, accompanists, coming from Europe, preferential prices on the occasion of the 9th Marathon of the Dunes,.
Flight charters will be foreseen from some cities when the number of the participants is big enough.
The organization foresees the landing of the planes in ADRAR, the closest city to Kerzaz (200 km).
Financial conditions:
The price for the right of entry to the 9th Marathon of the Dunes will be fixed subsequently after negotiation with the airline companies.
The other expenses: visa, travel insurance, etc.… are in charge of the participant.
The price includes:

• The Round-trip plane ticket to the city host of the 9th Marathon of the Dunes.
• Lodging (because of the absence of infrastructures in this location, no hotel), all participants will be lodged in an excellent school establishment (by two, by three or by four people according to the affinities of the groups), in beforehand bivouac on demand (four people or six people), the restoration will be full board in the same establishment.
• The internal transportation by bus according to program of the activities of the Marathon of the Dunes.
• The program of animation (artistic evenings, conferences)
• Guided tourist visits.
• The sporty tests during the three stages.
• New Year's Eve with an exceptional program that will have place meadows of the dunes and under kheimattes.
• The payment can be made by check or transfer on account of Sporting Management.

The officially committed participants before the progress of the Marathon of the Dunes must pay to the organization 60% of the expenses to Sporting Management.
First deposit sent imperatively before September 30, 2008.
Final payment must be made before November 1st, 2008.

Forfeit Annulment of engagement:
The annulments of booking demand, the declarations of forfeit and demands of repayment must be expressed by registered letter in order to avoid all contestation.
10% of the totality of the engagement rights will be kept by the organization in case of disclaimer intervening during the month of enrollment.
25% of the totality of the engagement rights will be kept by the organization in case of disclaimer intervening fifteen days before the test.
Past this last delay, no demand of repayment will be accepted.
The charter ticket is not repayable for the participant not having been able to done the displacement with the delegation of the organization.
Lodging:
The camp of the sportsmen will be implanted in the locality of Kerzaz, situated to 330 km of Bechar and 200 km of Adrar. The participants will be lodged in a lately inaugurated school establishment, in bivouac (on demand) with all necessary comforts-bathroom-shower.
Food:
The organization foresees an improved sporty menu made by a sport physician.
The traditional meals are foreseen in the program. The restoration will be done in the refectory of the High school.
Internal transportation:
The organization will put at the disposal of the participants buses with 50 places for the internal transportation according to the program stopped for the sporty, tourist and cultural activities.
Tourist visits:
In collaboration with the local committee of Kerzaz, several very interesting tourist visits, are programmed on the occasion of the 9th Marathon of the Dunes with guide chosen on this occasion.
Bank Exchange:
A bank will be installed in the marathon village to do the operations of exchanges or the withdrawals of money by banking card system.
Expo village:
An expo village will be open during the whole period of the 9th Marathon of the Dunes for the sale of articles of souvenirs, mineral water, fruits and other products.
Cultural and artistic animation:
Every evening, on the place of lodging of the participants, under anticipated kheimattes on the occasion of the marathon, organization of a program rich in animation with troups and orchestras of the region.
New Year’s Day:
This year, the organization foresees a traditional menu with an exceptional animation and this far from the place of lodging meadows of the dunes under kheimattes with the presence of orchestra of the region.
Types of communication:
From Kerzaz where will take place the 9th Marathon of the Dunes, all telephonic communication media are possible in direction of all cities of the world by the stationary or the portable phones.
Deadline of the inscriptions:
The deadline of the enrollments is fixed to November 30, 2008.
It won't be possible to enroll the very day of the race.
